OUR CONGREGATION

Ours is an indigenous Congregation of the Religious Brothers founded in the year 1903 by Rev. Fr. Adrian Caussanel SJ. A Jesuit Missionary of French nationality and this congregation was elevated to be an Institute of Pontifical Right by means of a decree by the Holy See on 11 February 1999 on the remembrance of its centenary.

Good news to the poor in the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is our charism and clarion call to bring the gospel among the people through evangelization and social action in the past one century and we are heading towards the uplift of the poor and the neglected. Poverty casetism, domination of the have's and the haven'ts, regionalism and secularism are some severe set backs in our Indian society; In his lifetime in India particularly in the region our founder Father as an evangelist showed solidarity in the face of opposition and stood for the poor and fought for their rights. So we, as his faithful followers, have adopted justice ministry as one among the various ministries, we accomplish in the midst of many trials and tribulations, Nonetheless we are proud to say that when god is in our side what man can do to us. Our good Lord is always on outside to bless our mission in hundred and thousand folds. Hence we wish to say that we have ventured successfully in our endeavor in the past 105 years.
